Blogging 101 for Newbie Bloggers

blogging
Fear of the unknown is what keeps most of us back from trying out new things most of the time and this also applies where blogging is concerned. Most newbie bloggers get stuck on choosing a topic, a niche, a layout out of fear that readers will not respond well to it. Others don’t trust their ideas or their writing style to be powerful enough to reach a whole deal of people. But
whatever the reason, starting this journey will be worth the efforts you put in overcoming your fears, and if you apply a few tips that will help you get started, you are already well on your way to excellent writing.

1. Small stepping stones

As in life, in blogging most newcomers want to know how they can become successful and want to get there directly, bypassing all other possible pit-stops. But they often don’t see from A to Z and since they can’t figure out how to get to Z, they simply give up. The key is to have a plan in the near future, with small steps you are committed in taking. It is impossible to grow your blog in a few weeks, you you will have to be willing to invest a lot of time in your new blog. Set up your host and domain, set up social media accounts that should help you promote your blog and start writing. Simple steps, one after the other, without thinking of C before you’ve solved B, this will help tremendously.

2. Content is King

Your subscribers will come time and time again to your blog if you provide fresh, unique and excellent content at regular times, so create a schedule and respect it. Fresh content means that you have to do more than just write, you will have to check Google and Facebook Trends, take a look at the events, and try to predict what the readers will be interested in. Your visitors will count on you to keep your commitments. Find a niche that complements your writing style and expertise and stick to it. If you write on specific topics that are tackled only by you, it is clear that you will secure followers that will keep coming back. Become an expert in your field, and keep in mind that people who write on multiple topics are frowned upon. When you are not very talented with words, but you have great ideas,
guest posting service can always become a solution.

3. Be Unique

Instead of simply writing what comes to mind, make brainstorming sessions, decide what you want your readers to take as a message from your work, think about making your article memorable, add a bit of controversy and consider taking on subjects that can stir up some comments among your readers. Also, think of repeating keywords throughout your posts so that you indirectly generate a bit of organic traffic as well. Written content is not the only type of content that you can use. There are many alternatives like infographics, videos, podcasts and content visualizations that will attract good traffic.

4. Design

Take your time with your blog’s aspect, it will be the most striking feature about it, because readers turn away more often than not from sites which are not visually appealing. So work on making it attractive and original, intuitive and user friendly, link social network buttons to each post and encourage active input from readers. You should also write an „About Me” so that people will know that there is actually somebody behind that blog.

5. Content Marketing

Last but not least, when trying to make it big, a bit of publicity goes a long way, so share, pin, tweet or link your posts to Google+ and other social media platforms. Audience will increase significantly with this step, but you need to be consistent and enforce your online presence often. New visitors will be inspired to click on other social media buttons you’ve placed on your site, and the circle starts again. Your follower’s followers will become new visitors and they will help build an audience for each post you publish- so get to it!
